LETTER FROM Paul

Paul

Dear potential Guestfamily

I am Paul and I live together with my Mom and Dad in an apartment in Germany. My grandparents live in the house right next to me so I see them basically everyday. In my free time I am going to the gym and I enjoy seeing progress in the form of muscles because I was fairly skinny my entire life. I am interested in working with and building computers. My father normally cooks but most of the Sunday my father and I cook together we cook foods from Europe Asia and all around the world. When I find the time I like to bake even so I am not really good at it but I improve from time to time. It is always fun and at the moment I only bake waffles or small cakes but I am looking forward to bake more complicated cakes in the future. I try to see my friends as often as possible in my free time. When we meet we usually do sports or listen to music. About once a month I am visiting cities in my area with my friends we then try to feel and explore the city I live near the middle of Germany so I often visit Frankfurt and Wiesbaden but I am looking forward to visit my older cousin in Berlin this year. To relax I often walk in the nearby forest and listen to the nature. In our forest you can also see animals like deer boars and foxes quite often. I enjoy playing chess I learned the basics when I was young by my grandpa.

Since I was really young my parents always took me to holidays all around Europe and I was always interested in the history and culture of the places we visited. When I got older I went to a camp in the northern of Germany with about 50 other people in my age, and the museums and landscapes fascinated me. Since I was 13 I went to a similar camp in Croatia every summer and I loved it every time. Because of my experiences in different European countries, I then wanted to dive deeper into a different culture and go to a host family for a longer time. I got the idea of going to the USA from my cousin who worked in the USA for 3 years and showed me interesting sights into her life there. My Aunt who is in her fifties now also did an exchange while at the same age as me and told me how different the high school life is in contrast to the German school life.

Thats why I am most excited to see your local lifestyle and culture and I am open to show you some German culture too. I would also love to learn an American team sport. Because I dont have team sport at the moment and the American ones are rising in popularity here at home.

Thank you for considering me as a guest child I hope your day has been going great and I am looking forward to hear from you.

Best regards,

Paul
