Dear Host Family,

Hi! My name is Puhn, and my nickname is Khaopad. Anyway, you can call me ‘KP’ for short. Let me explain myself a bit. I’m a simple, outgoing person. I like to do activities with my friends. I love photography, mainly street photography and event photography. I also won an award for photographing the landscape at school last year. The concept of competition was about taking highlighted locations to represent that area. I was very happy to win the 1st prize.

Another activity that I enjoy doing in my free time is playing sports such as basketball and badminton. I was in a basketball tournament event. Unluckily, we lost in that event.

During the weekend or holidays, I usually spend my time with my family, We love to go to the beach or take a road trip to the north part of my country. Normally, I prefer to travel to mountains rather than the beach because I like the scenery of mountains and forests. I also prefer the weather at the mountain which is colder than the sea as well. In my free time, I like to watch basketball clips or learn photography. I also love listening to music, especially hip-hop. When my father is free, we go to the gym to exercise. I like to build up my muscles to control my body weight. Apart from doing exercise, I also like to eat and cook. My favorite food is protein such as steak (pork, beef, or chicken). I also love seafood and salad. Normally, I cook eggs for my breakfast. I made omelets or fried eggs with toast if no one cooked for me. I used to bake pancakes at a school event with my friends, and it worked very well. Last week, I went to scout camping and had a chance to do tower jumping. It was my first time to do it, and it’s fun and I also enjoy camping with my friends too. So enjoyable.

My family has 4 people: Dad, Mom, my brother, and me. I also have my grandparents, and we often do activities together. When I have free time, I help my parents to water our garden and feed our dog. I have a dog, and his name is “Khaoniew.” The meaning of “Khaoniew” is sticky rice. His breed is beagle. He is very cute but naughty at the same time. I also like cats. My house always has street cats come to visit very often.

The reason that I am applying for an exchange program to the USA is that the USA has always been my dream country to visit. The USA is a great place to get more opportunities to gain new experiences and meet people. I want to face different cultures and new things that I might not be able to encounter in Thailand. Furthermore, I commit to improving my English skills in listening, speaking, and writing to enhance my communication and open up more opportunities for my future.

For my future host family, I am genuinely excited at the prospect of becoming a part of your lives and experiencing the warmth and culture of your home. I hope that we can form a strong bond and understand each other well. As I join you, I promise to be on my best behavior, be respectful, and contribute positively to our shared experiences. I am looking forward to sharing moments of joy, learning from each other, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
