Dear Host Family,

My name is Rebecca, and I am a 17-year-old girl from Italy. I live with my mother and older brother, as my parents are separated. We have two dogs who are part of the family, and I enjoy taking care of them because they teach me responsibility and patience. Having pets has helped me learn how to be caring and attentive, and I find spending time with them very relaxing after a busy day.

At first, I can be a little reserved with people I don’t know, but once I feel comfortable, I become very open, friendly, and fun. I like to make people laugh and create a positive atmosphere around me. Sometimes I am shy at the beginning, but once I start to trust someone, I show my true personality. I enjoy being with others and sharing moments of happiness, jokes, and stories. I think that humor is a great way to connect with people and break the ice.

One of my biggest passions is horseback riding. I have been riding horses since I was a child, and I love spending time with them. Horses are strong and gentle animals, and riding helps me relax and find balance, as well as learn discipline and respect. I love the feeling of freedom I get when I’m riding, and I have participated in many competitions which taught me how to be focused and determined. Horses have also taught me a lot about trust and communication, since you need to understand and respect the animal to work well together.

In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, watching movies, and hanging out with my friends. Music is very important to me; it helps me express my feelings and sometimes escape from stress. I have a wide taste in music and like discovering new artists from different countries. Watching movies is another way I learn about different cultures and stories, and I enjoy discussing them with friends. Spending time with friends is one of my favorite things, because they make me feel supported and happy.

I am very interested in learning about different cultures and discovering new things, so I like trying new activities and always learning. This curiosity about the world motivates me to travel and meet people from different backgrounds. I believe that understanding others helps create a more peaceful and open world.

I have traveled around Europe with my family, and these experiences helped me become more independent and understand the world better. Traveling taught me how to adapt to new environments, solve problems, and appreciate diversity.

I hope this exchange program will allow me to grow even more by living in a different country and experiencing daily life in the US.

I am excited to join this exchange program because I want to improve my English, learn about American culture, and live an experience that will help me grow as a person.
