Dear future host family,
In this letter, I would like to introduce myself to you and to thank you for letting me live with you for 10 months. I am looking forward to sharing some nice experiences with you soon!
I am Sarah and when I am going to go to the USA next year, I will be 16. I am from Germany and I live with my mother, my father and my sister in a house with a garden. We live in a small town near a bigger one, where I also go to school. We have one cat and four bunnies.
With my family, I get along really well. I like to talk to my parents and when I need help, they are there for me. In the school holidays we like to travel and in summer, we like to go swimming at the beach or the nearby lake. We also enjoy going on day trips together as a family. With my sister, I like to bake and spending time with her is always fun.
I am currently in 10th grade. School and my grades are very important to me, and I do my schoolwork reliably and independently. In my free time I play handball twice a week in a local sports club, go horseback riding, or I read. I know a horse which I take care of two to three times a week. This includes riding, feeding and taking care of the equipment. I also like hanging out with friends to stroll through the city, go to the cinema, to bake, or just to chat. At the weekends, I often have handball matches or tournaments with my team.
My family and friends describe me as determined, empathetic, reliable, tolerant, honest and keen on getting to know new things. I want to see the world, love traveling and plan to spend some time abroad after I will have finished school. Since I was 11 years old, I have been thinking about doing an exchange year in the USA. I would love to get to know the USA and their culture. I am especially looking forward to becoming part of a new family, learning about the American way of life, participating in high school and making new friends.
I am excited and looking forward to getting to know you as my host family.
Kind regards,
