Dear future host family,
My name is Stine and I would like to tell you something about me and my life, because I would really like to do an exchange year in the USA.I’m 16 years old and I live in Germany .In my free time I like to read a lot. I prefer to read crime novels,my favourite book is:” because you are the lie”. Besides, music means a lot to me because I have been playing the violin since I was eight years old. My favourite songs include the songs from Billie Eilish. Especially the songs “I love you ” and “ocean eyes” I like a lot.I really like to cook and bake and make creative cakes for my family’s birthdays. My favourite foods include pizza and lasagne. I dream of starting medical school after my high school and then working as a pediatrician. I would say of myself that I‘m more introverted. I often come across as a bit shy, but as soon as I have warmed up to people, I tend to talk a lot. I would also say from myself, that I am a very creative people, because I like to draw and paint in my freetime a lot. I have a rather small circle of friends, but which is very important to me and I love spending a lot of time with them. For example, we organize murder mystery dinners together, watch films, or go shopping. My hobbies also include dancing, kickboxing and swimming. In general, I really enjoy everything that has to do with sport. Furthermore I really like going to school. I‘m currently in tenth grade at a grammar school and my favourite subjects are history, art, sports, German, biology and Latin. I also enjoy volunteering at my school. I‘m a representative of my class and represent my school in the four subjects of art, German, Latin and history. I‘m also a member of my school’s general conference.
Together with my parents I live in a house with a garden. My parents are both from Germany and 43 years old.My mother works as a marketing manager POS and print at a print company and my father as a process optimizer in the aviation industry.I also have a little sister, which is six years old and attends the first grade of an elementary school. Our Dog Mila is an important part of the family for all of us and we enjoy taking her for walks. In addition,my family and I travel a lot during the vacations, it is our family tradition that we visit each holliday another country with our caravan. We are doing this since I am around eight years old, so we already saw many countries like Norway, Croatia, Italy. My regular household chores include setting and clearing the table, tidying and cleaning my room, unloading the dishwasher and hanging up and taking down the laundry from time to time. I also have to take our dog for a walk before school. In addition to school and my hobbies, I have been working for a family in the neighborhood for about a year and a half, looking after their four-year-old son. Thanks of these jobs, I can not only afford my shopping trips or similar with my friends, but I have also learned to take a lot of responsibility and have a lot of fun with these jobs.
I hope that my year abroad will improve my english and give me an unforgettable experience so that I can develop myself personally. I also look forward to immersing myself in a foreign culture, making new friends and a second family and hopefully learning a lot of new things. I think the USA is perfect for this, because it is an incredibly big, exciting country full of opportunities, with very nice people who I would love to get to know better.
I hope you now have a better impression of me and my life and I would like to thank you now for allowing me to live with you for such a long time and experience your everyday life, your culture and your language if you decide to join me for this exciting year. I look forward to hearing from you and getting to know you.
Warm regards from Stine
