Dear Host Family,
My name is Valentina, and I am so excited about the opportunity to spend a year in the U.S. and become part of your family! I live with my mom, Jana, and we have a great relationship. My father, Franco, is Italian and spends most of his time in Italy. I have three siblings: my sister Melissa 29, with whom I spend a lot of time, my brother Armando 30, who lives in London, and my little half-sister Carla 2.5, who lives with my father and his girlfriend. I also have a small dog, Chiki, and a cat, Alice, who are both very calm and love to cuddle. One of my biggest passions is my horse, Emanuels, who is five years old—I spend a lot of time with him at the stable, as I do show jumping.
I have a strong, open-minded, and liberal personality, and I value kindness and open communication. While I love being around people and making new friends, I also appreciate having some alone time. Fashion is one of my interests, I enjoy dressing well. I consider myself mature and independent, but I can also be quite sensitive. Spending time with friends is very important to me, whether it’s going out or just hanging out at home together.
In my free time, I love listening to music, watching TV series, and going to concerts. Besides horseback riding, I don’t do many sports, but I enjoy being active. When it comes to food, I like simple meals and am open to trying new things. Christmas is my favorite holiday because of the cozy atmosphere, and I would love to experience an American Halloween! I have no specific expectations about my host family—I am open to any kind of family dynamic and would love it if there were animals, but it’s not a must.
Through this exchange year, I hope to improve my English, make new friends, and truly experience American life. I want to immerse myself in a different culture, try new things, and create memories that will stay with me forever. I am really looking forward to this adventure and can’t wait to meet you!
Best regards,
Valentina
