LETTER FROM Vittoria

Vittoria

Dear Host Family,

First of all, I would like to thank you for considering opening your home and heart to a student like me.

I would like to introduce me and my family so you can get to know me a little bit. In my family we are five: my parents and my two sisters. We have a wonderful relationship and I love spending time with them, talking about everything – from how our day went to deeper conversations, like when something isn’t going well at school or with friends. What we love the most is traveling: since we were little, our parents have always tried to show us the world and teach us how to live alongside different communities. They’ve taught me important values like independence and the love for family. Of course, sometimes we argue – but that’s normal in every family!

I consider myself a very ambitious girl. When I set a goal, I do my best to achieve it. I like trying new things, even though I also enjoy staying in my comfort zone – that’s probably why people sometimes say I’m a bit lazy! I’m not into sports or going out every day, even if I love spending time with my friends and my family. I enjoy talking to people and getting to know them better, even if I might seem shy at first.

Even though I don’t love sports, I’ve always enjoyed playing tennis since I was a kid – but my real passion is music. I love listening to music while doing my makeup or on the way to school. I also enjoy going to concerts, and when I was younger, I used to play the guitar. When I’m not listening to music, I like watching movies or TV series or going out with friends for a walk or a shopping trip.

As an Italian girl, my favorite food is pizza – but I’m always excited to try new flavors, even if I also love to stick to family traditions, especially during the holidays like Christmas or Easter.

Spending six months away from home, family, and my daily routine at this age can be challenging, but I believe it’s also incredibly valuable. It’s an opportunity to open your eyes to the world, beyond the support of your parents. Living in a new place, with new people, where no one knows you, pushes you out of your comfort zone and helps you grow into a more independent person. I’m not afraid of change, and I’m always ready to challenge myself, even when I feel homesick. The main reason I want to take part in this experience is because I see it as a chance to grow as a person – to develop both personally and culturally, improve my language skills, and gain something truly unique from this journey.

Thank you again for considering me as a part of your family. I can’t wait to meet you and start this adventure together!

Warm regards,

Vittoria
