Hello, I’m Yihyeon from Korea., I’m 16 years old, and I’m excited to join this program to learn more about American culture and improve my English skills.
My family consists of my father, my mother, and me. I also have an aunt and a grandmother. My father runs a business, so we don’t talk as often as I’d like, but he always treats me like a friend. We often chat about soccer, which is my biggest passion. Even though he’s older, our conversation feels easy and comfortable, just like talking to a friend. My mother is a journalist and an incredibly smart person. She teaches me English and helps me with subjects like history and social studies when I need extra support during exams. She’s often busy with work and sometimes comes home late, but she always makes time for me and is incredibly kind and supportive.
I love sports, especially soccer. I enjoy both playing and watching games, particularly the English Premier League. My favorite team is Real Madrid, and my favorite player is Kylian Mbappé. I also love playing soccer video games like FC25. On weekends, I meet up with my friends to play soccer. I first became interested in soccer when I was 15 after playing soccer video games. That led me to start watching real matches, and I quickly became passionate about the sport.
Another one of my big hobbies is playing video games. I prefer PC games over mobile games and enjoy playing with my friends. My main game is Valorant—I started playing it because my friends were into it, and I wanted to join them. Now, I really enjoy playing on my own as well.
I also love spending time at my friends’ houses. We often watch movies, play games, and eat delicious food together. One of my favorite memories is watching a soccer match at a friend’s house. When we stay up late talking, the weekends always seem to fly by.
I’d describe myself as outgoing and friendly. I might feel a little shy at first, but I usually warm up to people within a few days. I love joking around and having fun. I always try to stay positive, and even if my English isn’t perfect at first, I’ll do my best to communicate and connect with everyone.
I’m really excited about this program and believe it will be a valuable experience in my life. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to learn more about American culture. I hope we have a great time together and build wonderful memories. I know there might be some language barriers at first, but I’d really appreciate your help as I adjust.
Thank you so much! Can’t wait to meet you soon!
